The Negotiation, Administration & Management of Construction Contracts, focussing on the Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contracts (PSSCOC)
Date: 24-25 May 2018
Time: 9.00am - 5.00pm
Venue: e2i West, Devan Nair Institute for Employment and Employability
The objectives of this course are to help you make water and utilities projects successful by disciplined improvements to traditional contracting content and forms; as well as contemplating trends and revolutionary new contracting strategies that can deliver significant savings if applied correctly.
In practice, contracts have an image problem. The attitude of many project professionals is that a contract’s only function is to “Minimise Exposure to Risk and Liability”. This is important, however it is only the ‘insurance policy.’ The main purpose of a contract is to express the business deal between the parties in terms of risks and rewards, and to define how the parties intend to execute the works. This course will set a fresh and innovative direction with contracts. You will come to appreciate that correctly applied contracts are one indispensable and flexible tools to deliver essential infrastructure.
